We hit a moose tonight. It was a slow motion impact; we were only going 25 or 35 mph on the road our house is on. It hit right in the center of our truck grill and bounced off pretty dramatically to the right of us, actually hit my passenger side door.

We're okay and only feel the adrenaline stress of dealing with it, hopefully no whiplash tomorrow - prayers there.

It was a medium sized "child" moose, and the mom kept walking back and forth all around afterwards to check on her son. That part was sad. On a day when we didn't have our cell phone, we drove 1 more mile to our house and called the troopers as per "law". Meanwhile some random guy found it and wanted to take it home for meat. Our neighbor friend wanted it too, but we "did the right thing" and turned it.

Now it is on it's way to some church or other random person who is on a waiting list for just such things. At least if we didn't get the meat, someone who needed it will get it right...

That's our Monday night report! More miraculous events to report on later this week! Like final exams, a million basketball games, team pictures by mini-airplanes that look like a hawk.

Just another amazing day "Way Up North...to Alaska"!

The basketball Jamboree went interestingly Friday night! We lost all three 8 minute quarters.

We play well with these big schools for about half the time, then we run out of steam, we run out of rebounds, and it turns to hyper speed slop ball. The athletes I have are just not used to playing at the necessary speed. That's the critical point of view.

The good point of view is that all this learning curve, all these tournaments and travel are to prepare us for our conference play in January, in Fairbanks. In which we can win our 4 team conference and get a bid to the Alaska state tournament, Hoosiers style, biggest division, smallest school CINDERELLA STYLE! :)

Just got back from church - lots of slow hymns......but several good Christmas carols. A good guest speaker who spoke of praying and believing: FAITH. Stepping out in R-I-S-K, out in Faith. Go big, don't hold back - we don't have to wait for Him to return to see miraculous things! Pray for these people! The same spirit that raised him from the dead is in us!!!!

To conclude this quick blog, here's a question:

Does anyone really purchase Beyonce albums on purpose and embrace them in all their hip hop muscial glory, or is it the truth that you just hear it on commercials and on the radio thinking, "Humph, Beyonce, okay. Next song then." Best album of the year nomination?!?!?

2 weeks till Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRESENTS, BASKETBALL, TRAVEL, GOOD TIMES, FAMILY!!!!

The first weekly Super Scarf Award was handed out tonight at practice and the team was so into it crazy funnily!

Joan taught me how to make a knitted scarf and each week a player gets to wear it with a sweet shirt I had made for it. They think it's so cool, of course I do, I just wasn't expected them to be so into! WOOYEAH! The next week the scarf is handed off to the next "practice player of the week".

Coaching girls basketball, so dramatic at times, so easily cheesy and fun at any moment!

Tomorrow we have a round robin mini-tournament called a Jamboree. I personally don't think we're ready - WE DO NOT REBOUND and barely play defense. Luckily I have a secret plan that makes them play more scrappily than they know - 2 switching presses! If we slow the game up at all, we're done. We will be annihilated. We are 5'3, 5'5, 5'4, 5'6 (if that) and nothing taller. We are playing Hoosiers (movie) style as in we are the smallest school in the entire division, having to move up to the highest division this year....

Well that was my basketball mind spit out for ya tonight. In reality, real life we are getting super pumped for Christmas around here with decorations (lights and mini-trees mostly), presents, and a mini amount of snow.....We actually have snow, whereas noone all around us does. Kids and people have been super on edge and ansy for weeks b/c they cannot go out and snow machine etc. Cranky! BUT, but, butt (with two tees), we only have 9 days of school till Christmas break!

Casey and I got snow shoes ordered last night - THANKS MOM AND DAD! and we were surprised by a grandpa greeting and gift today! WOO! Can't wait to give our gifts in S.D.!

Should be doing some things for school right now - better run! Scrimmage report tomorrow night or definitely before the weekend is out!
